David Prutton has now weighed in with his score prediction for the Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom.

Sheffield Wednesday return to Hillsborough on Saturday where they welcome league leaders West Brom.

Going into this next round of fixtures, Danny Rohl finds his Owls side in 21st place of the Championship table, compared to Carlos Corberan’s Baggies in 1st.

Already, 12 points separate the two teams. Sheffield Wednesday remain without a win since their 4-0 demolition of Plymouth Argyle on the opening day, whilst West Brom are unbeaten in the league.

And to make matters more difficult, Di’Shon Bernard is suspended for this weekend following his red card v Luton Town last time out, with Wednesday losing the appeal.

The Owls face a former player in goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith, who joined West Brom during the summer transfer window, whilst Wednesday’s deadline day target Mason Holgate is also with the Baggies now.

David Prutton score prediction for Sheffield Wednesday v West Brom

Going into the weekend, EFL pundit Benjamin Bloom gave his score prediction for Sheffield Wednesday v West Brom, and he backed the Owls to claim a point.

Former Wednesday midfielder and now Sky Sports pundit David Prutton though has tipped the Baggies to continue their fine start to the season with another win.

Prutton said on the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast: “They’ve been wonderful [West Brom].

“Really, really good to watch. They’ve seemingly picked up from missing out on that spot in the play-offs last season, started very, very well indeed.”

And on Wednesday, Prutton added: “They’re somewhat in the middle of what we’ve seen; they’ve not covered themselves in glory in games, but have also looked pretty dominant in others.

“So that’ll be as much of a frustration to Danny Rohl as anyone else,” Prutton concluded, predicting a 2-1 West Brom win.

Sheffield Wednesday must contain one key West Brom player

Under Corberan, West Brom are very well-drilled, and very organised in what is a tactics-heavy side.

But one player has stood out for the Baggies this season; striker Josh Maja, who’s already scored six goals in the Championship making him the league’s leading scorer.

He plays as the lone striker, and he’ll be going up against another makeshift Wednesday back-line with Bernard suspended and Dominic Iorfa potentially missing out again.

Bit if Wednesday can keep Maja at bay then they might stand a chance of knicking a point, which would be a huge result for the Owls.
