Sheffield Wednesday duo Pierce and Shea Charles both started for Northern Ireland as they beat Belarus 2-0 in the Nations League.
Sheffield Wednesday have two brothers currently away on international duty in goalkeeper Pierce Charles and Southampton loan man Shea Charles.
Both are very highly-rated among Owls fans. Pierce has come through the academy and is currently playing no.2 to James Beadle, though there’s growing calls for Charles to be given some game time in the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday fans were critical of Beadle during the Steel City derby defeat last time out, but Danny Rohl looks set to stick with the Brighton loan man for the time being.
Shea meanwhile has shone since joining on loan from Southampton. The 21-year-old has started every league game since arriving at Hillsborough but Sheffield Wednesday fear a January recall for Charles, amid Southampton’s Premier League woes.

What Northern Ireland media are saying about Pierce and Shea Charles after Belarus win
Both Charles brothers started for Northern Ireland as they beat Belarus 2-0 in the Nations League on Friday, with Shea captaining the Northern Ireland side for the first time.
He also grabbed the assist for the opening goal, putting in a corner which Sunderland’s Dan Ballard headed home.
Belfast Live gave Shea an 8/10 rating, writing: “Big night for the midfielder and he provided assist for crucial opener,” and the same outlet gave Pierce a 6/10 rating, adding: “Quiet night for the ‘keeper but another clean sheet.”
Belfast Telegraph went into a bit more detail. They gave Shea an 8/10 rating and wrote: “Captaining the national side for the first time, the precocious midfielder helped keep Northern Ireland’s momentum going, while making timely interceptions against rare Belarusian forays.
“Almost outfoxed Belarus keeper Fedor Lapoukhov with a clipped free kick in the 25th minute. Supplied the corner for the winning goal.”
And they gave Pierce a 7/10 rating on the night, writing: “Preferred over Bailey Peacock-Farrell once again. Had practically nothing to do throughout, especially in the first half as Belarus were easily contained.”

Pierce and Shea Charles stats for Northern Ireland vs Belarus
Pierce had just one save to make on the night, also making on punch. The ball-playing goalkeeper had 31 touches of the ball and made 19 accurate passes too.
Shea meanwhile had the second-most touches of any player on the pitch (75) and the fourth-most accurate passes (47 out of 56 attempted).
