Former Sheffield Wednesday striker Stevie May played for the Owls during the 2014/15 Championship season, spending just one campaign in S6.
The 2014/15 season for Sheffield Wednesday felt like quite a disappointing one. But looking back now, Danny Rohl would love what was a 13th place finish in the Championship table.
Matters at Hillsborough now seem much more desperate. But a 1-0 defeat for Sheffield Wednesday in the Steel City derby last time out leaves the Owls in a relatively comfortable 15th place.
A lot has changed in the 10 years since that 2014/15 season, which was Dejphon Chansiri’s first half-season at the club.
He’s just seen Sheffield Wednesday placed under embargo and then quickly lifted out of it ahead of the January transfer window.
In the summer of 2014, Wednesday under previous owner Milan Mandaric spent £800,000 on signing Stevie May from St Johnstone, per The Scotsman, though any such spending under Chansiri in January is unlikely.

What is former Sheffield Wednesday man Stevie May up to these days?
May was a marquee signing for Sheffield Wednesday in 2014. He arrived off the back of a prolific spell with St Johnstone in Scotland, scoring 27 goals in all competitions in the 2013/14 season.
But with Sheffield Wednesday, May didn’t prove as prolific. He scored seven goals in all competitions in 2014/15, all of which coming in the Championship, featuring 42 times in all competitions.
He was sold to Preston North End after just one season in S6 but injury limited him to 12 appearances in two seasons at Deepdale, scoring once.
May, now 32 years old, then spent three seasons with Aberdeen where he scored eight and assisted 13 in 75 total appearances, then returning to St Johnstone in 2019.
Since, the one-cap Scottish international has made a further 152 appearances for the club, scoring 30 goals. But right now he’s on loan at Livingston in the Scottish Championship.
May has two goals in 11 league appearances but has scored in each of his last three games in all competitions.

Stevie May goal helps Sheffield Wednesday end winless run
The 2014/15 season wasn’t all plain sailing for Sheffield Wednesday. In fact, they went on an 11-game winless run that campaign which ended with a 2-1 win at home to Wigan Athletic in November 2014.
Chris Maguire looped the ball into the box and May rose highest, nodding the ball into the far corner past Scott Carson in goal for the Latics.
