Sheffield Wednesday fans are all in agreement over this latest update from Joe Crann.
Sheffield Wednesday have a two-week break from Championship duties, with the international break upon us.
But Danny Rohl isn’t wasting any time, putting his side up against Aston Villa in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Olaf Kobacki scored the only goal in a 2-1 defeat, seemingly returning from injury whilst Di’Shon Bernard has picked up a fresh injury whilst away with Jamaica.
It’s another blow for the Owls. And it’s another body out at centre-back where names are already thin on the ground.
One name is Akin Famewo, and he may well have been Wednesday’s most-improved player this season.

Sheffield Wednesday fans react as club eyes Akin Famewo deal
On Thursday, it was revealed that Sheffield Wednesday are in talks with Famewo over a potential new contract.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at Hillsborough next summer. The news comes after his impressive start to the season, and fans have reacted positively to this latest update from Joe Crann.
One fan posted: “He deserves it, been fantastic since Danny arrived,” whilst another added: “Most improved this season, been a rock at the back at times, developing well under Rohl and playing next to Di’Shon is massive for him.”
Meanwhile, others praised the club for looking to sort deals early, with one fan saying: “Nice to see us making smart moves early!”
And another adding: “This is how we need to run a club. Contracts sorted early. Keep players happy whilst they’re playing well.”
Overall though, fans were crediting Famewo and the improvements he’s shown this season. One other comment read: “Hands up, surprised me massively this season. Fair play to him.”

What next for Akin Famewo at Sheffield Wednesday
Famewo is still a relatively young player at 25, and in these early stages of the Wednesday project under Rohl, he could well see himself in S6 for the long-haul.
Rohl is certainly getting the best out of Famewo, who at times last season was a scapegoat during poor veins of form.
He’s more commanding this season. He’s also shown improvements in possession, making him ideal for the passing style of play.
A new contract makes sense, on both the club and Famewo’s side of the coin.
