Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl let his feelings be known after the game against Norwich City, despite a good win.
Sheffield Wednesday returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Norwich City at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.
The win is of course positive. But after the game, Danny Rohl once again highlighted a poor atmosphere at Hillsborough.

Danny Rohl questions ‘quiet’ Hillsborough
Rohl told journalist Alan Biggs after the game that the biggest cheer was when fans found out that Sheffield United had conceded the first goal at Bristol City.
He said: “It was one times loud [when Sheffield United conceded]. The other times a bit quiet. But we have to do our job.
“We cannot influence this if it’s not enough to lead 2-0 against a strong Norwich.”
Earlier this season, Rohl questioned the atmosphere at Sheffield Wednesday‘s Hillsborough ground, labelling it as being a bit quiet.
Inevitably, some fans have urged that the noise will come back when there’s more consistency to results, with one posting: “Results bring the crowd back, I guess people lost the appetite for it after Saturday’s game.”

A similar comment read: “When we had an extended spell of pressure it lifted considerably! Like all clubs we react to what’s happening!”
But most fans seem to agree with Rohl. “It is embarrassing when that was the biggest cheer,” one Owls fan posted in regards to the Sheffield United score. “Atmosphere at home has been awful for years though unless it’s a big game.”
Another posted: “Need to get the atmosphere back it has been poor all season.”
Another shared similar views, adding: “We’ve been saying this for years about home support. Glad he’s finally saying it.”
One Wednesday fan is even worried Rohl will leave if the issue doesn’t fix itself. They posted on X: “Only one thing I’m not happy about is the atmosphere, it’s awful again.
“We’re winning 2-0 and I can hear our manager. It’s embarrassing. If we don’t pull our finger out we going lose the best manager we had for years. Time wake up and be loud.”

Sheffield Wednesday ticket allocation for Sheffield United
Whilst home games do seem to be hit and miss in terms of atmosphere, Sheffield Wednesday fans always seem to turn up on the road.
For this weekend’s game at Bramall Lane, over 32,000 are expected, with Owls fans having quicky sold out their allocation of 2,417.
A Steel City derby, and a good performance and result, could go a long in reigniting the spark at Hillsborough, and hopefully in building some consistency in the form of the team.
