Sheffield Wednesday first-team coach Chris Powell has discussed his role at the club, and what the future might hold.
Chris Powell is a well-liked name among Sheffield Wednesday fans, known for his antics on the sidelines.
He arrived midway through last season having previously held coaching roles with Spurs and even the England national team.
Dejphon Chansiri wanted to give Danny Rohl a coach whose first language was English and who also had experience of English football.
And Powell’s arrival at Hillsborough has no doubt played a huge part in the club’s success under Rohl.
Powell continues to work closely alongside Rohl as part of an ever-growing backroom team, with Sheffield Wednesday appointing a set-piece coach last month.
Former England international Powell has had spells as a manager, taking charge of the likes of Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town, and Southend United, all with varying degrees of success.

Chris Powell plays down possible return to management
Speaking to Football Heaven recently, Powell discussed his role in S6, and what it is he actually does behind the scenes.
He explained how he’s someone for Rohl to bounce new ideas off of, whilst also telling of how he works closely with the players on the training ground.
Previously, Powell spoke about how Sheffield Wednesday saved his life following a health scare before his arrival at the club.
He’s never hidden the fact that he loves his job at Wednesday, and in his most recent interview he played down the chances of a return to management.
Powell said: “It’s a good role for me, because I very much doubt that I’ll manage again.
“So actually it’s a good role where I can do a bit of coaching, I can do some individual work with players; that’s one thing I really like, whether they’re young or old.”

Sheffield Wednesday must keep hold of Chris Powell
During the summer, Rohl signed a new three-year contract with the club. But if he keeps on impressing then Rohl could even be gone before those three years.
Should that happen, keeping hold of Powell would be crucial for the Owls; he has the experience to steady the ship through those changing times.
He could possibly step in as caretaker whilst Chansiri found a new manager, and keeping Powell in place for future bosses would keep an air of continuity about the club too.
Sheffield Wednesday are certainly lucky to have someone like Powell in their ranks.
