Sheffield Wednesday have signed nine new players this summer, with more expected.
After securing Championship safety last season, and then securing a new contract for Danny Rohl, many expected the Owls to have a real go in this summer’s transfer window.
Dejphon Chansiri was under pressure to keep Rohl content at Hillsborough. But few expected that Chansiri and Sheffield Wednesday would have such a positive summer.
Nine new players have arrived, with transfer fees spent on the likes of Yan Valery and Olaf Kobacki.
It also looks like Chansiri is ready to spend big on a striker, with Sheffield Wednesday trying to re-sign Ike Ugbo in a deal that could cost the Owls up to £2.5million.

Dom Howson shares positive verdict on Sheffield Wednesday transfer business
Posting on X, Howson has shared his positive verdict on Sheffield Wednesday’s summer transfer business so far, adding that the first-team squad seems more balanced now.
Howson though has highlighted a couple of concerns ahead of the August 30th transfer deadline, with ‘a couple of pieces missing in the jigsaw’.
Howson also suggests that Sheffield Wednesday need another centre-back bringing in, if they want to make a realistic push for the top 10 next season.

Like Howson says, bringing back Ike Ugbo and then bringing in another centre-back would certainly round off what’s been a very promising summer transfer window for the Owls.
Rohl though may be keen on another central midfielder; perhaps one that’s of a similar ilk to Barry Bannan who may well be leaving the club at the end of this season.
Sheffield Wednesday will find it hard to replace Bannan. But bringing in a Bannan-like midfielder this summer, who can dictate the midfield and provide energy, could allow Rohl to ease the eventual loss of Bannan; be that next summer or in the years to come.
All in all though, Sheffield Wednesday have certainly enjoyed a positive summer transfer window, ahead of what many hope and expect will be a much brighter Championship campaign for the Owls.
