Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has offered an intriguing insight into how matters work within the hierarchy at the club.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl has recently given an interview with German outlet Kicker, where he’s discussed a number of things.
The 34-year-old has spoken about his future at Sheffield Wednesday and also his relationship with the club’s controversial owner Dejphon Chansiri.
Chansiri is a widely unpopular figure among fans following another season of mismanagement off the pitch, and at the start of the season, mismanagement on the pitch as well.
The 1867 Group have led protests against Chansiri who, for a long time has been widely speculated to have a big say in footballing matters at Wednesday.
Danny Rohl reveals Dejphon Chansiri role in decision-making
Speaking to Kicker (as relayed by Dom Howson on X), Rohl has now revealed that he and Chansiri ‘make all the decisions’ at Wednesday.
Rohl though adds that he himself has to ‘approve everything’, from transfers to contract extensions, to hotel bookings.

Sheffield Wednesday appointed Rohl in October. Since, the Football League’s youngest boss has overseen 26 games, winning 10 of them and losing 13.
The Owls currently sit in 23rd place of the Championship table and three points from safety after a run of three wins in four.
Last time out, Wednesday beat Bristol City 2-1 at Hillsborough.

It’s been a talking point for some time now; Sheffield Wednesday need a director of football or a CEO to bridge the gap between manager and owner.
Chansiri has no footballing experience or expertise. He’s been trying to handle football matters for some years now and it’s left Wednesday in a mess.
And now Rohl’s comments have confirmed that Chansiri still plays a big role in the decision-making process at Wednesday.
Rohl needs someone with footballing experience to go through the decision-making process with, not Chansiri.
Chansiri is the owner and he should remain that; whilst he’ll obviously want to have a say in how the club is run, he shouldn’t be involved in any footballing aspect of the club as that simply isn’t his field.
If Sheffield Wednesday stay up then they’ll surely keep Rohl and the rest of his impressive backroom team. Then all that’s needed for the Owls to really start rebuilding is a director or executive between Rohl and Chansiri.
