Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan has sung praises of one very young teammate of his.
Sheffield Wednesday take on West Bom at Hillsborough this weekend, where the Owls will look for a first win in five Championship outings.
Barry Bannan though will be looking for a third goal in as many games after netting in the draw vs QPR, and the 2-1 defeat vs Luton Town last time out.
Speaking to the press, Bannan stated that having Shea Charles alongside him in midfield has helped him to push up the pitch, giving Danny Rohl a new attacking outlet in the process.
But the Owls currently sit in 21st place of the Championship table. That’s compared to West Brom who sit in 1st place, and are unbeaten in the league so far this season.
Bannan also gave his verdict on Charles’ younger brother Pierce Charles.

Barry Bannan hails Pierce Charles at Sheffield Wednesday
Academy goalkeeper Charles made his debut for Sheffield Wednesday last season and is currently playing no.2 to James Beadle.
Charles had loan interest during the summer but was kept at Hillsborough owing to an injury to Ben Hamer.
Featuring in the Carabao Cup, Charles has shown his qualities as a goalkeeper; both with his hands and feet, with his passing ability really catching the eye.
Bannan said: “He’s an unbelievable goalkeeper. I think the game nowadays is demanding that goalkeepers aren’t just about making saves and coming and taking crosses.
“In the modern day game, everybody wants to build up from the back and the goalkeeper’s a big, important part of that.
“We’re lucky that we’ve got a young goalkeeper coming through here who’s unbelievable with the ball at his feet.
“He’s really, really young and still learning. But I do sometimes admire some of his passes, especially in training.”
Bannan added: “He’s got the world at his feet. It’s just about him keep working hard and progressing, and I’m sure he’ll have a bright future.”

Pierce Charles can be Danny Rohl’s first-choice next season
Next season, Sheffield Wednesday will once again be in the market for a new no.1, with Beadle set to return to parent club Brighton.
And that could leave Charles in the clear to take on the no.1 spot. But he faces spending this season on the bench which could mean that he doesn’t have enough experience to come into the XI next season.
Rohl may consider loaning out Charles in January should a suitable team come along, and should Hamer return to fitness.
But like Bannan says, Charles is someone with real potential, and he could one day next Sheffield Wednesday a huge transfer fee.
