Sheffield Wednesday stars have responded to one Owls star’s moment of brilliance vs Coventry City.
The start to Sheffield Wednesday’s 2024/25 Championship campaign has been somewhat up and down, however Danny Rohl’s side are finally starting to get into second gear.
The previous three games have seen the Owls pick up seven points, with them also notching their first away victory of the campaign, and they did it in incredible fashion.
Djeidi Gassama managed to bag a well-deserved goal as he was brought in for the unavailable Josh Windass, whilst Shea Charles also put in yet another terrific showing.
Aside from the goal that won the game in incredible fashion in the dying minutes, he was solid in the centre-of-the-park, and his break-up play certainly aided Barry Bannan in getting the best out of the Scotsman.
The Owls midfielder has already shown to have been a brilliant piece of business to bring him in on loan from Premier League outfit Southampton, and one moment in the win against Coventry City has most certainly proven that.
Sheffield Wednesday stars react to Shea Charles goal
Charles was without a doubt the difference maker for the Owls in their victory on the road against Coventry City, and there is no surprise to see his Sheffield Wednesday teammates showing their support for the moment of brilliance that bagged them the win at the death.
The Sheffield Wednesday star took to Instagram following his marvellous showing for the Owls, where he received several responses from his teammates, including Barry Bannan, who wrote: “Congrats and well deserved mate 👏💪.”
Sheffield Wednesday vice-captain Liam Palmer also reacted in awe to the performance of the midfielder as he wrote: “😍😍😍”, whilst Jamal Lowe also said: “Called it from early!! 🤩🤩🤩.”
Owls duo Akin Famewo and Charlie McNeill also showed their support for Charles following his brilliant goal, as they wrote respectively: “Stahboi 🤩” and “What a man😍.”

Shea Charles goal will be the difference in Sheffield Wednesday turning around season
There is no doubt that one achilles heel for Rohl’s side up until this point has been replicating their often brilliant performances at Hillsborough Stadium on their travels, and whilst it has take its time, the Coventry City win could show that his team have finally managed to show their strengths on the road.
Wednesday have put in several brilliant performances up until this point, with the away loss against Luton Town being a prominent example of the Owls not bagging the points that reflected on the showing of the side.
However, Sheffield Wednesday have finally managed three points away from home, and they must ensure that this contributes towards a permanent fix of their form on the road, as this is the difference between Sheffield Wednesday potentially looking towards the higher echelons of the table at this moment.
