Sheffield Wednesday return to action midweek as they face Bristol City away from home.

Wednesday are in confident spirits after they beat Championship table toppers West Brom 3-2 on Saturday.

Danny Rohl’s side had been 2-0 up thanks to an own goal and Josh Windass strike but were in danger of letting three points slip away as West Brom scored two without reply to level the game.

Anthony Musaba was on hand to score a late win though as the Owls moved up to 19th.

Bristol City on the other hand drew to rivals Swansea City on Sunday.

Sheffield Wednesday team news

Musaba could return to the starting XI after scoring the winner at Hillsborough on Saturday. He could replace Olaf Kobacki in the front three.

Di’Shon Bernard could also be brought back into the fold after missing the weekend win through suspension. Dominic Iorfa is definitely out though.

However, after securing a big win, Rohl may opt to go with the same side that earned themselves a win against West Brom.

Bristol City team news

The Robins have several stars out injured for the midweek clash.

Rob Dickie, Rob Atkinson, Ross McCrorie, Ayman Benarous, and Sam Bell are all ruled out through injury.

Zak Vyner and Luke McNally are expected to continue playing in the centre-back role due to the absence of Dickie and Atkinson.

Scott Twine has been in impressive form this season and will almost certainly be in the starting XI, as will Sinclair Armstrong.

Bristol City vs Sheffield Wednesday predictions

Beating top of the league is always a confidence booster, but to do it with a late winner will only further boost Wednesday’s spirit.

Rohl’s side have had an extra day to recover too after Bristol played on Sunday but coming away from Ashton Gate with a point wouldn’t be the worst in the world.
