Who else is linked with Sheffield Wednesday ahead of January?
Right now, specific names of players wanted at Hillsborough remain quite sparce, and mostly speculation.
In November, Birmingham City centre-back Dion Sanderson was labelled a ‘good fit’ for Sheffield Wednesday amid his lack of game time this season, and the Owls’ lack of centre-backs.
Barry is the first real name for Wednesday fans to get excited about. But given the sheer volume of interest in him and the fact that Villa may or may not re-loan him in January, it seems like Barry to S6 is currently unlikely to happen.
Sheffield Wednesday are back at Hillsborough on Saturday where they welcome Preston in the Championship.
