Another out of contract Sheffield Wednesday man is attracting interest from the MLS.
Sheffield Wednesday currently have 10 first-team players out of contract in the summer, with some key names included in that 10.
One is Liam Palmer and he’s recently been linked with a potential MLS switch in the summer.
Now though, it’s been revealed that Josh Windass has interest from the States ahead of his Hillsborough contract expiry.

Windass has already been linked with a potential move to Argentina in the summer, following previous links to South America last year.
Now though, The Athletic’s Tom Bogert has revealed on X that two MLS clubs are keen on signing Windass, along with ‘several clubs in Europe’.

Windass, 30, has been with the Owls since the 2019/20 season, making 126 total appearances for the club and scoring 36 goals.
He’s so far featured 16 times in the Championship this season with two goals to his name, and two in his last two for Danny Rohl‘s side.
Windass though is best remembered for scoring that late, dramatic play-off final winner vs Barnsley last summer; his 12th league goal of that season.
Rohl has previously described Windass as a ‘game-changer’.
Sheffield Wednesday favourite now facing key decision
Windass has been coming into form over the past few weeks.
He was poor at the start of the season but goals in his last two has marked an upturn in form under Rohl, who’ll surely view Windass as an important player for the remainder of this season at least.
But at 30 years old, and after several years at Wednesday, it could be time for the player and club to part ways in the summer.
Rohl wants to bring in the next generation of young stars and whilst Windass could be a useful squad player for next season and beyond, moving him on would open up a space for a younger player to come in, whilst also taking a big chunk off the wage bill.
And for Windass, interest from Europe, MLS and South America seems very exciting.
It would be a new opportunity for the player who obviously still has a lot left to give, so this move wouldn’t be a typical ‘end of career’ move, but simply a new challenge for Windass who just last season netted double figures for goals and earned promotion.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see where he ends up next season and if he moves on, how he fares.
Securing a pre-contract agreement this month might not be ideal for Wednesday and Rohl though as they’ll be wary of Windass becoming distracted.
But it can’t be stopped, unless Sheffield Wednesday try to secure new terms with Windass which is of course a possibility.
