Sheffield Wednesday could pull off a deadline day swoop for a Swansea City defender, it has been revealed.

George Byers leaving to join Blackpool on loan has been the only bit of business, with the Owls seemingly missing out on striker target Duncan McGuire who appears to be closing in on a move to Blackburn Rovers.
Leeds United attacker Ian Poveda has now been linked with a potential move to Hillsborough as we edge towards the 11pm transfer deadline, and so too has Swansea City defender Kristian Pedersen.

Sheffield Wednesday don’t seem to need a left-back all that much right now.
But in fairness, both of Danny Rohl‘s current options have been in demand this winter; Marvin Johnson and Reece James, so Pedersen’s potential arrival could be in case one of those two leave before 11pm tonight.
Pedersen is an experienced player in English football having previously made 161 total appearances for Birmingham City, with 159 total outings in the second tier.
He joined Swansea City in the summer after being released by FC Koln, but the Dane has failed to make much of an impact having featured just four times in the Championship.
But Swansea’s trash could be Wednesday’s treasure; he’d much more of a defensive-minded full-back than the likes of Johnson, so he could offer Rohl a bit of something different, and maybe even offer cover in the middle.
Although this might not be an overly glamourous signing for Sheffield Wednesday, it could prove to be a useful one in their fight against relegation this season.
