Danny Rohl has opened up on where Sheffield Wednesday’s priorities should lie in the January transfer window.
Sheffield Wednesday will continue their battle against relegation going into the second half of the campaign, with the club sat nine points from safety.
With the January transfer window only days away, there is no doubt that Danny Rohl will be looking to boost his ranks in a bid to retain their Championship status for a further season.
The Owls so far have the lowest goal tally in the second tier, having managed only 17 goals in 24 games. Anthony Musaba is currently the club’s top goalscorer with only four goals, while their five strikers have a total of seven goals between them.
Sheffield Wednesday need to add some more firepower to their squad if they are to beat the odds over the next few months, and Danny Rohl has admitted that he is well aware of this.
When asked whether Sheffield Wednesday would be prioritising a new striker, Rohl told BBC Sheffield (as per The Star): “I think we know this.
“We need in front some players that have maybe really the quality to finish. This is in the whole team and you can see this is a team that is able to compare with our opponents. I have never seen a game since I arrive here that we weren’t in the game, OK maybe you look back and maybe Millwall, but in this game we had many chances. This is the good point, we can face every opponent but also to take something we need everything and we must be much more clinical in both boxes.”

Recent reports have already claimed that Dejphon Chansiri could inject cash into the club next month in order to bring in a quality goalscorer to help the club avoid relegation.
There have been a number of links to players such as Scott Hogan, but what Sheffield Wednesday can’t do is panic and buy the first available forward to them.
The Owls need experience and a brilliant record, but they don’t want anyone that is past it or someone with a bad attitude. Bringing in strikers in January is hard enough, so Danny Rohl won’t want his side to get scammed or bullied in their hunt.
