A player who Sheffield Wednesday wanted during the summer has been in fine form this season.
Sheffield Wednesday branched out during the summer transfer window, with head of recruitment Kevin Beadell scouring all kinds of markets.
The Owls brought in the likes of Olaf Kobacki from Poland, Yan Valery from France, and Svante Ingelsson from Germany.
It marked a hugely positive change in the club’s recruitment with Danny Rohl now having a much-improved first-team squad compared to last season.
There were also a number of players who the Owls took an interest in, but couldn’t bring to Hillsborough in the end.
It’s certainly left Rohl and Beadell with some potential targets for the upcoming January transfer window, which opens in two-and-a-half months.
And after an overall mixed start to this new season, with certain positions like centre-back looking very light, Rohl and co may have some targets already lined up for January.
One of which could be Elfsborg midfielder Michael Baidoo, who’s had a stunning 2024.

Sheffield Wednesday were linked with Baidoo during the summer transfer window, following his impressive past couple of years with IF Elfsborg in Sweden.
During the 2023 Allsvenskan season, Baidoo scored five and assisted six more from central midfield.
But in 25 league appearances in the 2024 campaign, Baidoo has scored 10 from midfield, assisting a further five in what’s been a stunning season for the 25-year-old.
His fine form has led to a call-up to the Ghana national team where he earned his first and second caps during this month’s international break.
Plymouth Argyle were also keen on Baidoo during the summer transfer window.

As well as centre-back, central midfield is another position that the Owls are somewhat light in.
Nathaniel Chalobah is injured, leaving just Ingelsson, Barry Bannan, and Shea Charles as the first-team options.
And next season, Charles’ loan deal will finish, and it’s thought that Bannan is out of contract too.
Either way with Bannan now 34, he’ll need replacing eventually, and Baidoo’s scoring ability could make him the perfect heir to Bannan.
He’d likely cost Dejphon Chansiri a fair bit, with Baidoo under contract at Elfsborg until 2027 and continuing to impress.
But it looks like it’d be a solid investment for the Owls with Baidoo going from strength to strength.
