And elsewhere in the English game, and overseas too, there’s former Sheffield Wednesday players working behind the scenes.
Here we look at five former Owls players currently working in football…
Steve Watson
Former Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Everton full-back Steve Watson finished his playing career with Sheffield Wednesday.
He joined on loan from West Brom in 2007 and eventually made his stay permanent, spending three years at Hillsborough before retiring in 2009.
Watson has had spells in charge of Gateshead, York City, and Chester, but currently manages Darlington in the National League North.

Chris Brunt
Best known for wearing a West Brom shirt, Chris Brunt was also a prolific name at Sheffield Wednesday.
The now 39-year-old made 153 total appearances for the Owls between 2004 and 2007, scoring 25 goals before joining the Baggies where he went on to make 421 total appearances.
Brunt now works as the loans manager at West Brom.
Oguchi Onyewu
American Oguchi Onyewu has certainly had an interesting career in football, having represented some huge names in football.
Former USMNT centre-back Onyewu played for Milan, Newcastle United, Standard Liege, and Sporting CP, among other clubs, during his career, playing for the Owls briefly in 2014.
Since retiring from playing, Onyewu has worked as a sporting director, previously working with Orlando City but now working as the assistant sporting director to the US Soccer Federation.
Onyewu famously had a scuffle with then Milan teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic during a training session in 2010.
Kevin Pressman
Legendary Owls goalkeeper Kevin Pressman made 478 total appearances for the club between 1987 and 2004, placing him fourth in the all-time appearances list for the club.
Since retiring in 2009, Pressman has held goalkeeper coaching roles with all of Scunthorpe United, Bradford City, Millwall, and Grantham Town, now working with Gainsborough Trinity in the Northern Premier League.
Rob Burch
Another former Owls goalkeeper is Rob Burch, though he made just the three appearances for Sheffield Wednesday during the 2007/08 season.
The now 40-year-old went on to have a successful spell with Lincoln City but now works as a first-team goalkeeper coach with Tottenham Hotspur.
Burch previously held similar roles with Fulham and with the FA.
