Sheffield Wednesday return to Championship action after a two-week break for the international fixtures.
The Owls went into the break on back-to-back defeats against Leeds United and then a 6-0 defeat at Ipswich Town.
It halted a run of four-straight wins for Danny Rohl‘s side who are now on 38 points, needing just a point to potentially move to safety after the gap stood at eight points last month.
Swansea City meanwhile are up in 15th.
They’ve lost one of their last five and head to Hillsborough on the back of a 2-0 win vs Cardiff City before the break.

Sheffield Wednesday have a few key injuries for Friday’s game against Swansea City.
Josh Windass and Callum Paterson remain sidelined but look as though they’re both nearing a return to action.
Elsewhere, Barry Bannan and Ian Poveda both picked up knocks before the break, and Rohl now says that both Bannan and Poveda face late fitness checks for Swansea City.
Rohl told the press:
“They are in training, they are involved, but it depends… It’s the kind of decision I have to make in the afternoon today, and then we’ll see what we can do and what is helpful for the following weeks.”
Juan Delgado and Kristian Pedersen remain sidelined, though Pedersen was recently pictured in first-team training.
How will Danny Rohl line up against Swansea City
It’ll certainly be interesting to see if Rohl goes with a back-four or back-five on Friday.
The back-four saw Sheffield Wednesday somewhat dominating Ipswich Town in the opening stages of the last outing, before the goals started flooding in.
At home and against a much less potent Swansea outfit, Rohl may be tempted to stick with a back-four and attack the game.
But the left-back area in a back-four is one of concern with Marvin Johnson being exposed against Ipswich Town, and possibly for that reason, Rohl might revert to a back-five.
That would mean either a midfield three or four, though with Poveda and Bannan potentially missing out, it could force Rohl into a midfield three of Will Vaulks, Momo Diaby, and possibly Liam Palmer or Djeidi Gassama; likely the latter with the Owls bound to be more attacking than defensive, and Palmer possibly starting in defence.
That could leave a front two, with one of Bailey Cadamarteri or Anthony Musaba partnering Ike Ugbo.
