Sheffield Wednesday were frustrated last time out against Preston North End, so Danny Rohl is very likely to make a few changes against Blackburn Rovers this week.
After picking up away wins against Hull City and Derby County over the last week, spirits were high at Sheffield Wednesday going into a home clash with Preston.
The Owls had to settle for a point at Hillsborough, though, and did so after trailing in the first half, before fighting back after the break, and even managing to miss a penalty.
Danny Rohl was not happy with his players’ mentality for that game, and judging by his post-match comments, we can expect some rotation for the midweek game against Blackburn.

Sheffield Wednesday team and injury news vs Blackburn
The big news for Wednesday is that their captain, Barry Bannan, will return after serving his one-game suspension picked up for hitting the five-booking mark this season.
Aside from that, it’s the same old injuries for Danny Rohl to deal with, as both Olaf Kobacki and Akin Famewo remain unavailable.
Kobacki is expected to be back relatively soon, while Famewo is due to be missing until March 2025.

Predicted Sheffield Wednesday lineup to face Blackburn Rovers
The obvious change for Rohl will be to replace Liam Palmer, who received a fair amount of criticism from fans for his display against Preston, and Bannan will no doubt step back into midfield and take the captain’s armband back.
Meanwhile, Yan Valery was blamed for Preston’s goal, but should retain his starting spot for now. It is likely Pol Valentin will come into the first XI, though, after an impressive performance off the bench on Saturday.

Michael Smith bagged the crucial goal for the Owls at the weekend, and it would be a surprise not to see him starting on Tuesday night in place of Ike Ugbo.
One change that may be necessary for Rohl as he looks to combat a very strong Blackburn side is to reintroduce Svante Ingelsson into the lineup as a narrow winger who can support the midfield battle. Doing so will ensure Wednesday do not get overrun in the middle of the park while also offering creativity going forward.
The game against Blackburn is one of five crucial games Sheffield Wednesday have left this year, and they’ll be needing a positive reaction after the disappointment of dropping points on Saturday.
