Sheffield Wednesday summer signing Olaf Kobacki has missed the last seven games with a muscle injury.

Olaf Kobacki was one of three players who Sheffield Wednesday spent money on during the summer, with the Owls bringing him in from Polish second tier side Arka.

The 23-year-old has so far featured eight times in the league for Sheffield Wednesday, who now sit in 13th place of the Championship table after a 2-0 win at Hull City in midweek.

On the whole, Kobacki looks like a good signing for Danny Rohl. He’s shown some glimpses of a very lively winger who can be a nuisance for opposition full-backs.

There’s also signs that he needs a lot more time to get to grips with the Championship. Kobacki was poor in Sheffield Wednesday’s defeat against Burnley in October, which was his last start for the club.

Since, Kobacki has been injured for Sheffield Wednesday having picked up a muscle injury in the goalless draw against Swansea City after the Burnley game.

Danny Rohl reveals Olaf Kobacki injury latest at Sheffield Wednesday

Speaking to the press on Friday afternoon, Rohl revealed that Kobacki is working hard to make his return to action for Sheffield Wednesday.

Rohl said: “Olaf has a strong attitude. This is what you can expect from such a player. He can play with resilience and go through and work hard.

“And he worked hard. He’s now on the pitch, and I think in the next two weeks he will be back in the team training.”

Rohl added: “He will come back soon,” before suggesting that Kobacki could be back in time for the game against Stoke City at Hillsborough on December 21st.

What Danny Rohl really thinks of Olaf Kobacki and his potential

Kobacki was a very exciting signing for Sheffield Wednesday in the summer. But it may be fair to say that he’s not started as well as he might have hoped, though there’s definitely potential there.

Speaking back in August, Rohl gave his honest verdict on Kobacki. He said: “This is the reason that I signed him, I see something in him, he has high potential and can make the next step.

“It is different in the Championship to the second division in Poland and this is the next step. He is doing very well and what I like is that he has a big heart, he is always giving everything for the teammates and for the team.”

When he is fit and available for selection, expect Kobacki to get his share of minutes, with fixtures heavily congested until the next international break in March.
