The Sheffield Wednesday attacker performed well in a pre-season friendly after falling out of favour.
The Owls will be hoping to build on last season’s incredible successes of staying in the Championship against the odds, winning their last three games of the campaign to stay up by three points.
The momentum has without a doubt carried them through the transfer window, with several players coming through the door, including Yan Valery and Max Lowe, who both played as Sheffield Wednesday beat Alfreton Town in their first pre-season match of the summer prior to the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
New Sheffield Wednesday signing Olaf Kobacki also proved to be a massive hit on Saturday as he contributed an assist to the second goal of the game with a well-hit cross into the box.
One player that performed well in Sheffield Wednesday’s first outing will have a point to prove as they look to get back into the squad after falling out of contention last season.

Mallik Wilks could build on Sheffield Wednesday pre-season performance and reinstate squad place
Mallik Wilks was on the scoresheet for Sheffield Wednesday in their first pre-season match of the season after getting on the end of a Kobacki right-footed cross and heading it into the back of the net.
The attacker was signed from Hull City back in August 2022, however has struggled to cement a first-team spot after struggling with injuries throughout his tenure in S6.
The 25-year-old managed six goal contributions in the 2022/23 League One season, despite only starting five league matches due to injuries which plagued his debut season at Hillsborough.

Wilks had a prolific season in League One with former club Hull City in the 2020/21 campaign, which saw the winger score 19 goals in 44 appearances, however he is yet to reach those heights at Sheffield Wednesday.
Providing that Wilks gets past his injury issues and is able to remain fit, Danny Rohl could get that goalscoring spark to return in the Leeds-born winger, especially having previously said that ‘he has quality‘.
We saw Rohl completely turn around the squad during his first season after taking over from Xisco Munoz, especially fellow winger Anthony Musaba who managed 11 goal contributions in 33 games, despite just tallying one prior to the German boss arriving at Hillsborough.
It’ll take work to get the goal scoring prowess back from Wilks, however providing that Rohl successfully manages the situation involving the winger, he could easily be utilised and be a threat in the Championship for the 2024/25 campaign.
