Sheffield Wednesday’s nine arrivals may be a cause for uncertainty around one current Owls player.
Danny Rohl has approached the summer transfer window head-on, having brought nine new faces through the door at Hillsborough ahead of the 2024/25 Championship season.
Rohl has also tied down the futures of crucial players, including most recently Di’Shon Bernard.
Sheffield Wednesday’s side is set to look completely different on the first game of the season in comparison to the start of the 2023/24 campaign, with Premier League experience dotted amongst the ranks now.
Rohl has successfully strengthened across the pitch, with a striker and central-midfielder arguably being the only players needed before they are fully ready for the new season.
One prominent figure of the dressing room was crucial in the miraculous survival of the 2023/24 season, however the quantity and quality of Rohl’s signings so far raises questions on how much he will be involved next season.

Danny Rohl must have a plan for Sheffield Wednesday fan-favourite Liam Palmer
Sheffield Wednesday’s Liam Palmer committed his future to Hillsborough following the 2023/24 season, with the 32-year-old entering his 15th consecutive season in S6 since he made his first-team debut in 2010/11 season against Brighton in League One.
The Worksop-born defender was usually utilised as a centre-back for Sheffield Wednesday when starting games in the 2023/24 season, however he also found himself at right-back, as well as occasionally sitting in front of the defence alongside Barry Bannan.
However, with recent signings, squad depth is secure across the pitch, opening up the question on how much Palmer will be involved this season.
It’s likely that Palmer will be utilised from off-the bench more this season, however Rohl must work out where the Scotsman will make the most impact.

Liam Palmer could thrive as new-found super sub option for Sheffield Wednesday
Palmer has been a prominent figure at Hillsborough over the years, and has been a player who was so crucial in recent times under Rohl.
The German boss will be fully aware that he always gets 100% effort and determination from the former Scottish international defender and will certainly keep him in his plans this season.
Palmer is likely to receive fewer starts at wing-back, especially with the additions of Yan Valery and Max Lowe, both of which have Premier League experience.
The 32-year-old could still tie down a centre-back spot depending on how many further signings are made by Rohl, however Palmer could be the most effective coming from off the bench and slotting in midfield for Bannan.
Despite playing the most of his career in defence, he can put in a shift when utilised in midfield, and he could be brilliant alongside Svante Ingelsson coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes.
Both players would guarantee high pressing and energy, something that would be invaluable when reaching the end of a game for Sheffield Wednesday, which is something that Rohl will be fully aware of when deciding how Palmer will fit into his plans for the 2024/25 season.
