When Danny Rohl was given the job at Sheffield Wednesday, he was given the task of getting the best out of a bloated squad that were performing well below the threshold.
Former Owls boss Xisco Munoz had clearly failed in getting the best out of his squad’s ability, however Rohl succeeded having slightly altered the team that the former Spanish boss was unable to win a single game with.
The likes of Jeff Hendrick was a stalwart for Munoz’s side during his winless tenure, however the midfielder was soon dropped after the German boss arrived at Hillsborough.

Former Sheffield Wednesday man Devis Vasquez has completed a move to Empoli in Serie A.
The Colombian goalkeeper has joined up with his new side as part of a loan move, with there reportedly being a €1m (£840,000) option to buy the 26-year-old, per Calcio Mercato.
The goalkeeper played nine consecutive Championship matches at the start of the season, before being ousted for Cameron Dawson to replace him in-between the sticks.
The Colombian did manage to achieve a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Leeds United, as well as perform in a 1-0 defeat at home to Ipswich Town, however the rest of his performances played into his loan being discontinued in January.

It was certainly a bold decision for Rohl to replace Vasquez with young goalkeeper James Beadle, who, up until January, was performing in League One with promotion hopefuls Oxford United.
He put full faith in the young goalkeeper over Dawson as well, who had years of Championship experience behind him.
It was incredibly bold for Rohl to rely on a goalkeeper who at the time was 19-years-old, however Beadle quickly became accustomed to the level of Championship football and turned out to be crucial in Sheffield Wednesday’s miraculous climb to safety.
Beadle performed incredibly when it mattered, especially with his clean sheets in the Owls’ final two games of the 2023/24 Championship season against West Brom and Sunderland.
Beadle has now since signed another loan move at Sheffield Wednesday, this time Rohl can guarantee that his goalkeeper is up to Championship standard and certainly has the potential to thrive beyond that.
