Sheffield Wednesday loan star Shea Charles captained Northern Ireland once again on Monday, in their second outing of the November international break.
Shea Charles was named Northern Ireland’s captain for the November international break, ahead of games against Belarus and Luxembourg.
And Sheffield Wednesday man Charles impressed against Belarus as his nation won the game 2-0. But his Northern Ireland side were held to a 2-2 draw against Luxembourg.
Charles grabbed another assist on the night. Northern Ireland had a 2-0 lead after 50 minutes but ended up drawing the game 2-2.
Charles started alongside brother Pierce Charles who’s yet to play a single league game for Sheffield Wednesday this season, despite having now featured four times for the Northern Ireland senior team.

The 21-year-old Charles has earned huge praise with Sheffield Wednesday, having now featured 12 times in the Championship this season, as well as featuring six times with Northern Ireland.
And he had another solid outing on Monday night. Belfast Live gave him a 7/10 rating and wrote: “Set up the opener for Price, driving force in midfield.”
Meanwhile, Belfast Telegraph gave Charles an 8/10 rating, writing: “His second outing as captain indicates the potential for long-term leadership in O’Neill’s mind, along with the likes of Ballard and Conor Bradley.
“An effortless, delightful assist for Isaac Price’s goal opened up Luxembourg.”
After a win over Belarus and a draw against Luxembourg during the November break, Northern Ireland finish top of their Nations League group, earning promotion to League B.

Charles ended the night with the fourth-most touches of any of his teammates (53), and the third-most accurate passes too (27).
He also made two key passes on the night, as well as the most crosses (one completed out of eight attempted), and the second-most long balls of any outfield player for Northern Ireland (three out of five).
Defensively, Charles also shone, making the second-most defensive actions of any of his teammates (six, with three interceptions, two tackles, and a block).
Danny Rohl will be desperate for Charles to return to Hillsborough fit and firing ahead of what feels like a must-win game at home to Championship strugglers Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.
