Sheffield Wednesday take on German outfit Werder Bremen in Austria on Friday afternoon.
Sheffield Wednesday play their second-to-last pre-season friendly on Friday, facing Werder Bremen in Austria at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller.
The Owls have so far played three pre-season friendlies; beating Alfreton Town 2-0, then losing 3-0 at Brighton in a behind-closed-doors clash, then losing 4-0 at Red Bull Salzburg.
Danny Rohl has taken his side out to Germany and Austria for part of their pre-season preparations and he’ll be hoping to see his side put in a good performance against Bremen, who finished in 9th place of the Bundesliga table last season.
Sheffield Wednesday meanwhile finished in 20th place of the Championship, following their well-documented escape under Rohl who took charge last October.
So far this summer, Sheffield Wednesday have signed nine new players, with all of Ben Hamer, James Beadle, Max Lowe, Yan Valery, Nathaniel Chalobah, Svante Ingelsson, Jamal Lowe, Olaf Kobacki, and Charlie McNeill joining the club.

Last time vs Salzburg, Rohl appeared to field a very strong side, and an XI that could possibly be the one to start against Plymouth Argyle on the opening day of the 2024/25 Championship season next month.
Beadle started in goal, with Marvin Johnson and Pol Valentin the full-backs, then Dominic Iorfa and Akin Famewo in the middle of defence.
Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer started in the middle of the midfield, with Kobacki, Anthony Musaba, and Josh Windass in front, and Bailey Cadamarteri as the lone striker.
Expect Di’Shon Bernard to play a part vs Bremen after signing a new Sheffield Wednesday contract.
Also expect Rohl to make vast changes to the side during the game as he tries to get minutes into every player before the tart of the new campaign.
