Sheffield Wednesday new recruit Nathaniel Chalobah has spoken about Danny Rohl’s signings ahead of the new season.
Sheffield Wednesday have been relentless in targeting the perfect players to play under Danny Rohl ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
The momentum of the final weeks of the 2023/24 season has clearly spread into the summer transfer window, with arrivals coming thick and fast into Hillsborough.
Rohl has managed to seal nine new arrivals this summer, as well as securing the futures of key players Barry Bannan, Liam Palmer and Josh Windass.
Notable names with Premier League experience have come through the doors at Hillsborough, including the likes of Yan Valery, who played under Rohl when the German was assistant manager at Southampton.
Defensive midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has now arrived ahead of the new Championship season, with the former Chelsea and England international noticing the significant progress that Sheffield Wednesday have made this summer.

Chalobah arrived in S6 following his release from Championship rivals West Brom, with the Englishman being Rohl’s second midfield signing of the season.
Speaking to the club on Youtube about Sheffield Wednesday’s signings, Chalobah said: “I think that just obviously shows the drive and the commitment from the club this year.
“I think the gaffer is getting all these signings in quite early so we have a bit of time to work in preseason, get fit and gel together as a group, so that is something I’m looking forward to.
It’s always nice when you’re not the only one that’s new so you know we can just try and try and gel in with the squad as quickly as possible.”

Sheffield Wednesday’s nine arrivals this summer have signed predominantly from England, and have EFL experience, however he has also branched out into the European transfer market to bring Ingelsson and Polish winger Olaf Kobacki to Hillsborough.
It’s always the most difficult to get foreign players with very little experience of the English game to adapt quickly, however the European signings seem to have connected very well with the group, with captain Bannan commenting on their good English and how they have fit in easily at Sheffield Wednesday.
Rohl has clearly done his research when bringing in his signings, with him balancing a good amount of Championship experience that can help those with less experience gel in to the environment even easier.
Rohl has always spoken about the importance of transparency within his squad and talking with his players, as shown through his hour-long call with striker Jamal Lowe before he signed for the club.
When it comes to man-management, Rohl ticks every box in ensuring that the new players are in an environment where they can easily settle in, which will be crucial with Sheffield Wednesday’s new-look team.
