Sheffield Wednesday defender Reece James has said that the squad have got to ‘stick together’ after their 1-0 loss to Bristol City.
Wednesday suffered defeat at Ashton Gate courtesy of a 64th-minute goal from Robins’ centre-back Rob Dickie.
The Owls were down to ten men for the majority of the game though, after Barry Bannan received a straight red card after taking down Jason Knight on the edge of the box, a foul in which Wednesday manager Danny Rohl believed was not a red card.
Wednesday star issues plea to teammates
Speaking to the club website, James said that the team needs to ‘stick together’ after another loss which was tough to take.
“We were disappointed, we started well and had chances to possibly get a goal early on.
“We went down to 10 men but I thought we showed a lot of character, a lot of spirit and we stuck together.
“We’ve got to stick together, we are seeing improvements week-on-week and we have to keep pushing to get results and hopefully they will come.
“You can see the intensity we are playing with, there is a belief that the manager has brought in so we have to keep fighting and doing the right things.
“We’ve got to focus on ourselves and putting a run of results together, that’s the main thing. We are putting in good performances and some of the scorelines haven’t reflected how well we have played.”

Danny Rohl has come in and instilled some confidence into this Wednesday team, who looked down and out under former manager Xisco Munoz.
