Sheffield Wednesday defender Reece James has explained what manager Danny Rohl has changed at the club since his arrival.
Rohl joined the club during the October international break, replacing former manager Xisco Munoz.
The £3.8k-a-week star spent last season on loan at Wednesday from Blackpool, making 25 appearances as the Owls secured promotion back to the second tier after two seasons away.
His performances were impressive enough for Wednesday that they brought him in permanently in the summer for an undisclosed fee.
James on changes manager has made
Speaking to Yorkshire Live following Saturday afternoon’s 1-0 defeat to Bristol City, James explained what Danny Rohl has changed for the better.
“It’s the belief and the mentality that the manager has brought in here. He’s obviously changed alot of the things we do, how we press, defensive situations. Hopefully soon we can get the results to help change our fortunes.”
Rohl already making good changes
Rohl’s appointment has so far been successful.
It has certainly been an improvement on the start to the season under Munoz, who only managed to pick up two points from Wednesday’s opening ten games.
Rohl has taken charge of four games since his arrival, losing to Watford, Plymouth and now Bristol City.
However, he did also get Wednesday’s first win, a 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers and Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United.
Clearly, since that result over a week ago, there has been a change in mentality, and like James said there is certainly a belief within the group that they can go and get results now.
He has also made other popular decisions, like bringing Marvin Johnson back into the fold after Munoz froze him out.
