Will Vaulks has been praised for the ‘fantastic’ thing he did at Sheffield Wednesday before Christmas.
After playing a key role in helping Sheffield Wednesday return to the Championship, Will Vaulks‘ importance has carried on in the 2023/24 campaign.
After featuring in only four of Xisco Munoz’s ten league games in charge, the midfielder was brought back in by Danny Rohl and has remained an ever-present figure in his team over the last few months.
Vaulks has consistently been praised for his ‘dominant’ performances for The Owls, playing a vital part as the team guided themselves to within only three points of safety.
The 30-year-old hasn’t just been hailed for his efforts with the senior team though, and has now been applauded for his work with the U18s.
It was reported yesterday that Vaulks had been present on the touchline for a number of Sheffield Wednesday U18’s FA Youth Cup clashes, including their 4-0 defeat to Reading this week.
Youth coach, Andy Sharp, has now spoken about the ‘fantastic’ work that Vaulks has been putting in with the academy players.
Speaking to The Star, Sharp said: “He’s been really good for the players.
“Not so much now, but before Christmas he was doing some training sessions with the boys, particularly with the midfield players. He asked if he could come, he was here in the last round, and he asked about coming again.
“It’s a good experience, and obviously great for the players to have that connection to the first team. It’s fantastic.”

It may be the young ones that are hitting the headlines as of late, with the likes of Bailey Cadamarteri and Anthony Musaba impressing.
However, the German coach has heavily relied on a number of the older players to help guide them through this tough period.
Vaulks’ commitment to the club is shown through his work with the U18s and shows how brilliant he is with the younger players.
The midfielder is one of many players whose contract will expire in the summer, and he is also one of many who Sheffield Wednesday need to be tying down to a new one.
With Vaulks, Barry Bannan, George Byers, Jeff Hendrick (loan) and Momo Diaby (loan) all in the final six months of their deals, Danny Rohl faces reaching the summer transfer window without an entire midfield.
