Will Vaulks was present for Sheffield Wednesday U18s’ defeat to Reading last night.
Will Vaulks has only been with Sheffield Wednesday in June 2022, but has already become a key man at Hillsborough.
The midfielder joined The Owls following the expiry of his contract at Cardiff City, going onto make 46 appearances as Darren Moore’s side won promotion back to the Championship.
Vaulks has continued his form into the second tier and has been an ever-present since Danny Rohl was appointed as Sheffield Wednesday head coach in October.
Vaulks has been absent since he was forced off in the first half of the win over Preston North End, with Rohl going onto claim he could be out for a minimum of two weeks.
With the 30-year-old unlikely to return to action until the home clash against Coventry City at the earliest, it appears he has been keeping himself busy.
According to The Star, Vaulks was a member of the backroom staff that were present on the touchline for Sheffield Wednesday U18s’ FA Youth Cup defeat to Reading on Tuesday night.
Vaulks joined U18s manager, Andy Sharp, and former Owls midfielder, Giles Coke, at Hillsborough.
It isn’t the first time he has made an appearance either, with the report claiming he had been involved in their last two FA Youth Cup fixtures – a penalty shoot-out win over Hemel Hempstead Town last month and a 5-2 thumping of Exeter City prior to that.
The win against Hemel Hempstead came just one day after the senior team beat QPR in the Championship.

Will Vaulks’ presence at these U18s games is really promising and shows his commitment and leadership towards the club.
Danny Rohl’s arrival has seen a number of youngsters really shine for The Owls this season, but Vaulks is one of the more experienced individuals that has also really thrived under the German.
There’s no doubt that the midfielder has plenty of playing left to do before he hangs up his boots, but it seems we could definitely see him in the dugout in the future.
