Sheffield Wednesday, as a whole, have been very disappointing this season.
After the opening five games of the 2024/25 season, Sheffield Wednesday have just one win to their name, and sit in 20th place of the Championship table.
It’s the same position that the Owls finished in last season, and so going off that standard alone, Danny Rohl’s side are yet to improve.
What’s made matters worse is that the Owls started the season in resounding fashion, beating Plymouth Argyle 4-0 and setting their bar extremely high.
A 4-0 defeat vs Sunderland followed and since then, fans’ expectations have been gradually lowering for the season ahead.
This weekend, Sheffield Wednesday face Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, in a game between two teams who’ve both started the season in poor fashion.
Luton have also claimed just four points this season, and they sit a place above Wednesday in 19th.
In midweek, Sheffield Wednesday beat Blackpool 1-0 in the Carabao Cup, with Di’Shon Bernard scoring his first goal for the club.

Di’Shon Bernard honest admission about Sheffield Wednesday form
Bernard signed a new Sheffield Wednesday contract in the summer, committing his future at Hillsborough for three years after becoming a free agent.
But he’s not been at his best this season; according to himself.
Speaking to journalist Dom Howson after the win vs Blackpool, Bernard gave an honest review of his performances this season, admitting that he could be playing better.
Bernard though is now doing ‘extra work’ in a bid to get back to his best.
The 23-year-old said: “I don’t think a few of my performances have been to the standard that I know I can hit.
“I’m working every day, doing extra work in the gym and on the pitch, to start hitting those levels again.”

Di’Shon Bernard isn’t helped by one thing at Sheffield Wednesday
Last season, Bernard’s class and his potential was there for everyone to see.
But he won’t fulfil his potential at Sheffield Wednesday so long as he doesn’t have a regular centre-back partner.
He’s often partnered with different players and that’ll make it difficult for him to really develop as a player.
That, and Rohl is often forced to change formations, chopping and changing between a back-five and a back-four which will disrupt Bernard’s development too.
Rohl has a top player in Bernard, but he needs to give him a centre-back partner to really form a connection with.
