Sheffield Wednesday fans are all talking about Bailey Cadamarteri right now. And soon, they might have another youth star to rave about.
Cadamarteri recently made the step up into the first-team, and in just a few games he’s managed to cement his place in the starting XI under Danny Rohl.
The 18-year-old scored the Owls‘ only goal in the 3-1 defeat vs Norwich City in midweek, after scoring the opener in the 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers earlier in the month.
He’s already closing in on becoming Sheffield Wednesday’s top scorer in the Championship this season, sitting just one behind Michael Smith on three.
The future is certainly looking bright for Cadamarteri and for the Owls’ academy too.
Rohl has opened up a clear pathway for the club’s youth players to play for the first-team and the likes of Sam Reed and Joey Phuthi look like the next in line to be given their chance in the Championship.
But in some years to come, a certain Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri could in the first-team.
Who is Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri?
He’s the younger brother of Bailey and another exciting star making a name for himself in the Sheffield Wednesday youth system.
At just 14 years old, he’s already turning heads at the club with his impressive goal-scoring record.
And last month, reports revealed that he’s set to be promised a scholarship when he turns 16, having also been invited to train with the England’s youth teams too.
And last night, Caelan-Kole took to X to show off his stunning goal-scoring record; he’s now netted 43 total goals already this season, scoring five in a Premier League Cup fixture vs Nottingham Forest.
He also sent message to his older brother ahead of the first-team’s Championship clash vs QPR later today:

Rohl promised upon his Sheffield Wednesday appointment that he’d place more focus on connecting the youth and first-team at Sheffield Wednesday, and he’s so far delivered.
The Owls have always had a decent academy producing decent players, but far too little have they been given a chance to impress in the club’s first-team.
Now though, with Cadamarteri coming through and thoroughly impressing, it opens the floodgates for the likes of Reed, Phuthi, and many more to come through.
And for the likes of Caelan-Kole, seeing his older brother work his way into the first-team will encourage him to stay at Sheffield Wednesday for the foreseeable future, as he knows there’s a route into the first-team for him.
It’s all looking very positive right now, but there remains an uphill task in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday still eight points adrift, and going up against a rejuvenated QPR side this afternoon.
