The Owls picked up a 1-0 win at the bet365 Stadium, resulting in the sacking of Alex Neil, but saw their three-game unbeaten run come to an end at Norwich City.
The Canaries won 3-1 on Wednesday night to leave Danny Rohl‘s side in 23rd place of the table, and eight points adrift ahead of today’s crunch match vs 22nd place QPR.
QPR are unbeaten in four under new boss Marti Cifuentes and could move out of the drop zone with a point today, at the expense of Darren Moore’s Huddersfield Town.

Rohl said ahead of today’s game that he expects to have mostly the same squad as he had for the trip to Carrow Road.
Attackers Lee Gregory, Josh Windass, and Michael Smith were all missing that game and Rohl suggested that only Gregory could come into contention for today’s match, though he appears to be 50/50.
Dominic Iorfa remains a longer-term absentee with Rohl saying in his pre-match presser that the 28-year-old’s latest injury blow doesn’t look good, with Momo Diaby, Juan Delgado, and Mallik Wilks also set to miss out today.
How will Danny Rohl line up today?
The first half performance against Norwich City was strong. But the second half performance highlighted some potential flaws in the side.
Expect the first change that Rohl makes to be Di’Shon Bernard coming back into the XI for Michael Ihiekwe, after the Jamaican international was left out of the XI at Norwich for what Rohl said was tactical reasons.
Elsewhere, Bailey Cadamarteri looked quite isolated against Norwich and Rohl could try to combat that by putting the more attacking John Buckley into the XI, in place of George Byers who was hooked at half-time in the game in midweek.
And the 32-year-old Liam Palmer failed to impress in the game vs Norwich, and with this position now up for grabs following the injury to Iorfa, we could see Pol Valentin also come into the XI for a fairly rare start under the new boss.
