Sheffield Wednesday fans had plenty to say before, during, and after the Steel City derby defeat against Sheffield United.
Before the game, there was optimism. Then at half-time, after a promising first 45, there was hope. But after a 1-0 defeat at Bramall Lane, there was the familiar feeling of points lost for Sheffield Wednesday.
Danny Rohl’s side lost concentration in the opening exchanges after the break and Sheffield Wednesday fans have blasted James Beadle for not stopping what looked like a potentially saveable shot from Tyrese Campbell.
But once, again, Yan Valery is coming under the spotlight.

Sheffield Wednesday fans say Yan Valery was ‘poor again’ in Steel City derby
Sheffield Wednesday signed Valery from Angers during the summer, spending £500,000 on the Tunisian international.
And Valery impressed on his Sheffield Wednesday debut. But he’s been very mixed since.
He looked easily beaten for Sheffield United’s goal in the Steel City derby, and fans were quick to criticise him on social media.
One Owls fan said: “Valery was poor again,” whilst another posted: “Valery just offering nothing on that side at all.”
Meanwhile, one fan said that neither Valery nor Maz Lowe have are actual upgrades on the pre-existing defensive options.
They posted: “Neither Max Lowe or Valery have been upgrades on what Sheffield Wednesday already have in wide defensive positions.”
After United’s goal, there were cries for Valery to come off. “Valery needs to come off,” one fan posted, as another said: “I’ve seen enough of Valery!”
One fan gave a more in depth review of Valery’s performance, posting on X: “Looks far too relaxed, losing his aerial battles and giving away silly free-kicks.”

Yan Valery stats for Sheffield Wednesday against Sheffield United
Against the Blades, Valery in the right-wing back position recorded just two defensive actions (one tackle and one clearance).
He also recorded just the sixth-most touches of the ball of any Owls player (35), recording 10 accurate passes (third-least of those who started for Sheffield Wednesday).
On top of that, Valery gave away two fouls (joint third-most for Wednesday) and lost possession 15 times in the game (fourth-most for Owls).
