Danny Rohl has provided his opinion over one bizarre officiating decision in Sheffield Wednesday’s win vs West Brom.
Against the odds, Sheffield Wednesday managed to bag all three points at Hillsborough, seeing off high-flying West Brom 3-2.
It was a brilliant performance orchestrated by Danny Rohl, whose side fully deserved the win that dragged them away from the dreaded relegation zone.
There were many top performers across the side, with Barry Bannan expectedly making a key difference by controlling the centre-of-the-park, whilst Josh Windass also put on a much improved performance as he contributed a brilliant headed goal that gave the Owls an initial two-goal lead.
Whilst it was not a crucial decision made by the officials, there was one moment in the game where Yan Valery was surprisingly handed a yellow card, one which raised many questions as it happened, and Rohl has expressed his views on the bizarre incident.

Danny Rohl opens up on what the fourth official said to him after Yan Valery caution for Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl has given his views on the bizarre moment when Valery was given a caution after he was supposedly wasting time, even though Owls shot-stopper James Beadle was down injured.
Per The Star, Rohl said in regards to the incident: “The good thing is that the fourth official said he agreed with me that it was not a yellow card. They can speak and after the game, we will get a report. They will say this was right or this was wrong.
“I cannot influence this, it is the team, the performance. And today the performance was good.”

Danny Rohl will be glad poor officiating wasn’t detrimental for Sheffield Wednesday
It seems as if there is always a constant noise around Sheffield Wednesday in regards to officiating decisions, with the recent loss to Luton Town most certainly getting the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Rohl will most certainly be glad that Valery’s yellow card in hindsight was not detrimental to the result for Sheffield Wednesday in their win at home to West Brom, and it was about time that the Owls had good luck fall into their favour.
It would be fair to suggest that officiating decisions that have caused uproar in the aftermath have already cost the Owls crucial points at this incredibly early point in the 2024/25 Championship campaign, however it is about time that the pendulum swung, and Rohl will be hoping that the crucial win will spark a revival of his side.
