Sheffield Wednesday defender Ciaran Brennan is ‘considering his future’ at Wednesday, as he considers his options ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Yorkshire Live, Brennan will consider his future in the new year, and is open to a move elsewhere.
The 23-year-old has failed to make an appearance for the first team this season, and was not included in the 25-man squad list that was submitted to the EFL last month.
Currently there is one space on the list, but new manager Danny Röhl is expected to give that space to either Marvin Johnson or Momo Diaby.
It is said that he could move on loan to a National League club where he could get some much needed game time, but he would prefer to wait until January to see what his options are.
Brennan’s contract currently expires in the summer, but it is said that the club have the option to extend it by another year if they wish to do so.
No surprise Brennan is looking to depart
It is no surprise Brennan is looking to leave the club.
The centre back has played 18 times for the Owls, but last of those was a year-and-a-half ago.
He did make 19 appearances in League Two last season whilst on loan at Swindon Town, but his loan there was cut short due to a shoulder injury he sustained.
He has made some appearances for the under-21s, playing against Sheffield United earlier this month.
He was part of the group that went to Spain in pre-season under former manager Xisco Munoz, and he even featured in some of the pre-season matches.
However, an unknown injury he picked up pushed him down the pecking order.
