A journalist has said that Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl will not make the same mistakes as his predecessor, Xisco Munoz.
Rohl replaced Munoz during the October international break after the Spaniard was sacked following a winless start to their first season back in the Championship after two years away.
Danny Rohl has so far done better, but it is only a slight improvement, winning once and losing four in his opening five games.
Journalist says Rohl will not make same mistakes as Munoz
Journalist Alex Miller of the Sheffield Star has said that Rohl will not make the same mistakes as Munoz in ‘compromising of principles’.
“The impression is that what Rohl won’t fall into is the vast compromising of principles Wednesday fans saw under Xisco.
“With results swirling downwards and pressure from the outside suggesting a revert to the more pragmatic playing style of Darren Moore, the Spaniard seemingly shifted to a more direct with every passing game, culminating in a final defeat at West Brom that presented as all-out aerial assault. Results of course, in the end, told.
“The shift in approach came across confusing and too much of a compromise. In building the sort of identity both managers spoke about, it fell some way short even in such a short time in the Hillsborough hotseat.
“Rohl, a meticulous analyser and thinker, seems committed to his plan and with signs of commitment coming from above will continue setting about implementing it.”
German should learn from his predecessor
Rohl certainly seems to have improved the overall mood around the place since his arrival.
The 34-year-old has given everyone around the club a lift it feels like, with the aforementioned Munoz’s time at Wednesday a calamity.
Changing your playing style so early on in the season after spending the whole of pre-season working on a different style makes it seem like Munoz went into total panic mode.
But Rohl seems cool, calm and collected, and it does not seem like he will be panicking anytime soon, despite some of the port results already in his tenure, like the 0-4 defeat at home to Millwall just before the November international break.
