Sheffield Wednesday are more likely to keep Jeff Hendrick for the remainder of the season than they are send him back to Newcastle.
That’s according to The Star.
Hendrick has been on loan from St James’ Park since transfer deadline day and there had been talks that he might return to Newcastle.
Let’s take a look at the ongoing situation involving Wednesday and Hendrick…
Wednesday could keep Hendrick for the season
It’s all go at Hillsborough this month. James Beadle has already checked in at Wednesday, with others set to follow him.
With Danny Rohl keen to strengthen his squad that could see some players shipped out in the opposite direction.
Hendrick has been linked with a move away from Wednesday – but that might not be the case.
The Star has claimed that the state of play right now is that Hendrick is more likely to remain at Wednesday as opposed to returning to Newcastle.
At 31-years-old, Xisco Munoz added Hendrick to provide some experience and know-how to his midfield ranks.

The player, however, has struggled to make a major impact and hasn’t been included in the last eight matchday squads by Rohl.
That has been down to injury but Wednesday’s form has taken an upward trajectory in his absence and talks have now taken place.
Wednesday have decision to make over midfielder
In an ideal world, Wednesday would probably choose to send Hendrick back to Newcastle.
However, the club won’t want to leave themselves short and ultimately, the Owls will probably want to do right by an injured player.
A lot will probably depend on whether or not Wednesday add another midfielder to their ranks this month.
Isaac Hayden is one player who has been linked with Wednesday and that might see the club swap one Newcastle loanee for another.
Hendrick will hope to recover from his injury soon as Wednesday edge closer to escaping the bottom three in the Championship.
Now, only time will tell whether or not he gets the chance to stay part of the Wednesday squad for the remainder of the campaign.
