Sheffield Wednesday have looked ‘unrecognisable’ since Danny Rohl joined the club.
That’s according to journalist Ricky Charlesworth, who has praised the huge improvement in the performances since Xisco Munoz’s brief stint.
Munoz was appointed Sheffield Wednesday manager in July following the surprise departure of Darren Moore. The Spaniard led the Owls to their worst ever start to a season with two points from ten matches, before he was sacked after only three months in charge.
With Sheffield Wednesday sat at the bottom of the Championship, Danny Rohl arrived with no managerial experience. However, his time coaching with the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig was definitely promising.
The Yorkshire outfit suffered back-to-back defeats in his first two games, however they looked to have turned things around with an impressive 2-0 win over Rotherham United at the weekend.

In a Q&A for YorkshireLive, the journalist said: “He’s worked wonders in the short space of time he’s been there. The team was unrecognisable on Sunday, and the pressing and overall performance was miles above anything we saw under XM [Xisco Munoz].”
Can Danny Rohl turn things around at Hillsborough?
Sheffield Wednesday’s performance against Rotherham United was definitely very promising and it was hopefully a sign of things to come.
However, there is no ignoring the fact that their local rivals are also battling relegation and the Owls will need to put on some big displays against teams higher up in the table if they are to escape their current position.
Supporters will be hopeful that Danny Rohl is the man for the job this season, but the current issues off the pitch could play a big part in his success at keeping the club in the Championship.
For now, Rohl and the players need to continue what they are doing and block out the noise around them. A trip to manager-less Bristol City is an interesting place to start.
