Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl has said that he will try and bring his wife and kids to every game after his side won 2-0 against Rotherham United.
The Owls got their first Championship win of the season in their 14th game, with a first half brace from Michael Smith getting the Owls all three points.
Whilst Wednesday do remain bottom of the table, this win will give them a huge confidence boost going forward, especially with it coming in a Yorkshire derby against one of their rivals.
Rohl on superstition
Rohl spoke to Joe Crann of the Sheffield Star, in which he said it was as the first game his wife and kids have come to, so will now try to bring them to as many games as possible in the future as part of a superstition.
“Yeah we have to do this now! There was a little bit of superstition involved and we tried it.”
He also spoke on how much the fans and the atmosphere they created helped the team.
“Yeah, for sure. I spoke about the second faith in the press conference and today we started to feel faith on the pitch and then we got the second faith off the pitch from the crowd. In this match, in this derby, it is always good to have them behind you and then you see how much energy we have as a team.”
A badly needed win
The club needed this win so badly, so Danny Rohl is rightfully delighted with the three points.
Wednesday played very well on Sunday afternoon, and will be hoping for this to kickstart a run of form to get them out of the relegation zone.
Their next match is a trip to managerless Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.
