Sheffield Wednesday fans are feeling gloomy following the defeat vs Leeds United.
Sheffield Wednesday have had their early optimism this season well and truly squashed.
Back-to-back defeats has brought Danny Rohl’s side back down to earth following their impressive 4-0 win vs Plymouth Argyle on the opening day.
Leeds United won 2-0 at Hillsborough on Friday night, live in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The Whites scored either side of half-time and limited Sheffield Wednesday to very little; on the night, the Owls managed just two shots on goal and had 30% of possession.
Several individuals have come under the spotlight following the defeat.
Pundit Gary Rowett was critical of Yan Valery and his decision to step out of the defensive line for Leeds first goal on the night.
Meanwhile, Rohl has received some stick on social media for his side’s inability do defend.
Sky Sports pundit Jermaine Beckford also took aim at goalkeeper James Beadle for his role in Leeds’ second goal on the night.

James Beadle criticised after ‘bizarre’ decision during Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Leeds United
Beadle rejoined Sheffield Wednesday on loan from Brighton earlier this summer.
It’s seen as a huge coup for the Owls after the 20-year-old’s impressive spell on loan during the second half of last season.
The England U20 man kept seven clean sheets in 19 Championship outings and played a huge role in getting Sheffield Wednesday over the one last time round.
Beadle has so far kept one clean sheet in three Championship games this season.
But against Leeds on Friday night, former striker Beckford was critical of the shot-stopper’s decision to go down early for Dan James’ goal after the break.
Beckford said on Sky Sports: “The thing that’s bizarre in this instance is the goalkeeper.
“Just watch his position, watch his movement. He goes down so so early.
“He looks like he is diving outside of the post, outside of the goal, which makes the finish… He is committed to diving a certain way before the shot has even been taken.”
James Beadle has huge task at Sheffield Wednesday this season
Beadle is arguably a focal point in this Sheffield Wednesday side.
Not only is he the goalkeeper; tasked with stopping shots and so on, but he’s also the person who starts a lot of Sheffield Wednesday attacks.
Rohl wants Beadle to play the ball out from the back and kick-start attacking plays.
It led to a goal during the 4-0 defeat vs Sunderland. But against Leeds, there was a noticeable shift towards playing more long balls.
Whilst there’s patches to iron out with the passing part of Beadle’s game, there’s also issues like going down too early for James’ goal.
It made for an easy finish for the Leeds man; Beadle made some good saves on the night but he could’ve stayed on his feet a while longer when one-on-one with James.
For youngster Beadle, it’s a very tough role in this Wednesday XI, but he’ll only get better with time.
