EFL pundit Sam Parkin has shared a ‘low scoring’ score prediction for the Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End on Saturday.
Paul Heckingbottom is in familiar territory on Saturday afternoon, with the former Owls player and Sheffield United boss taking his Preston North End side to Hillsborough.
As things stand, Preston sit in 18th place of the Championship table compared to Sheffield Wednesday in 12th.
Danny Rohl’s side have won their last two games now, beating Hull City and Derby County away from home.
The Lilywhites held West Brom to 1-1 draw in their last outing but are now winless in their last nine in all competitions, having drawn their last three.

Sam Parkin shares Sheffield Wednesday vs Preston North End score prediction
Speaking on the Championship Check-In podcast, EFL pundit and Sky Sports commentator Sam Parkin has given his score prediction for the game between Sheffield Wednesday and Preston.
He said: “Seems to be a lot of draws for Preston at the moment, or certainly not a lot of victories. Not the worst point in the world against West Brom.
“This again feels pretty low-scoring. I think it could be another 1-1. I will just go for Wednesday to nick it, after that last-gasp win at Derby.”
Did Sam Parkin correctly predict Sheffield Wednesday’s win at Derby County?
Parkin often isn’t far off with his predictions, if not spot on. But he got his prediction for the game between Derby County and Wednesday all wrong.
Parkin tipped Derby County to beat Sheffield Wednesday, though of course it was Rohl’s men who emerged victorious with Sheffield Wednesday claiming their first win at Pride Park since 2006.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Preston North End H2H
In their final game of 2023, Sheffield Wednesday beat Preston 1-0 at Deepdale to see themselves into 2024 on a winning note.
But the reverse fixture at Hillsborough was a 1-0 win for Preston during Xisco Munoz’s horror tenure in S6.
The last Owls win against Preston on home soil came back in 2021, with Liam Palmer scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win in the Championship.
In fact, the last four games between these two sides have been 1-0 scorelines, with two wins for either side.
During the 2017/18 season, Wednesday memorably beat Preston 4-1 at home, with goals coming from Owls legends Atdhe Nuhiu, Lucas Joao, and Fernando Forestieri that day.
