Barry Bannan has thrown more praise at Sheffield Wednesday coach Danny Rohl.
Barry Bannan has already made his feelings towards Danny Rohl very clear since the German was appointed back in October.
The German has led Sheffield Wednesday to six wins in their last eleven games in all competitions and they now look increasingly closer to retaining their Championship status – despite still sitting five points from safety.
Bannan is one of many members of the squad who have applauded Rohl for his impact at Hillsborough, which saw him nominated for Manager of the Month in December.
The midfielder has praised the 34-year-old even further now, and has also admitted how ‘great’ he is to learn under as Bannan hopes to go into coaching himself one day.
Speaking to Joe Crann of The Star, Bannan said: “With the new manager coming in, we bought into his philosophy straight away. If you start getting results straight away then everyone jumps on the bandwagon and if you can’t get on this manager’s bandwagon then I don’t know what you can do, because he’s done a great job since he came in here and he’s made us all believe again, and that’s all we can ask for.
“Danny’s been great to learn under…. as is Henrik [Pedersen], Sascha [Lense], Thomo [Neil Thompson], Chris Powell. They’ve all been a breath of fresh air for this club.
“It’s another manager that I can skills from and take little parts from. Of course, every manager that I’ve had has got good parts that I can probably use further down the line when I go into coaching, but I will be speaking to Henry and Danny more closely about that side of it this year.”
How much of a pull is Danny Rohl?
Danny Rohl has received unbelievably high praise during his time at Sheffield Wednesday, with both Barry Bannan and Josh Windass claiming him to be the best manager they have ever worked with.
The coach’s impact on the club may well tempt a number of players into signing new contracts ahead of the summer, whilst many would have previously looked likely to leave – especially if The Owls are relegated.
There are ten players approaching the end of their contracts this season, but it is unclear who will be offered fresh terms.
The ambition and success of Rohl will hopefully convince many of them that they want to continue playing under him to see where he can take the club.
