Sheffield Wednesday have enjoyed a pre-season training camp at St George’s Park this month.
The Owls are now set to fly out to Germany for the second part of their summer schedule, with a trip to Austria first up as they face RB Salzburg this weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday will also take on Werder Bremen, before returning to Hillsborough for a clash with Spanish outfit Leganes.
The team are set for a busy few weeks before they return to Championship action, having already beaten Alfreton Town in their first match since avoiding relegation against Sunderland.
Pierce Charles kept a clean sheet in Derbyshire as he came onto replace Ben Hamer at half-time.
It could well be the last pre-season game that the goalkeeper is involved in though, having flown out to his home country to compete in the U19s European Championship with Northern Ireland.
Having earned his first senior call-up in May, Charles returned to the U19s and kicked off his campaign with their 0-0 stalemate against Ukraine yesterday.
The 18-year-old received high praise for his performance at Inver Park though, having made a number of ‘superb’ saves to keep Ukraine at bay.
Pierce Charles did something ‘outstanding’ yesterday
In a match report by the Belfast Telegraph, journalist Graham Luney was eager to applaud Charles.
He claimed that the youngster put on an ‘outstanding shot-stopping display’ and was ‘unbeatable’ despite Ukraine’s flurry of chances.
Luney praised Charles’ ‘brilliant’ stop in the second half, as well as hailing him as ‘the hero’ when he denied Viktor Tutierov and Anton Drozd in the final minutes.
Luney added: “The star man here was King Charles who ruled at Inver Park.”
It’s a promising start to the tournament for Charles, who will be eager to impress on home soil this summer.
Northern Ireland will take on Italy and Norway in their group fixtures, before the semi-finals and final take place later this month.

Danny Rohl has made it very clear how big of a fan he is of Charles, who signed a new contract with the club in May.
The teenager is unlikely to force his way into the first-team set-up though, especially with Hamer’s recent arrival.
Wednesday have been urged to send Charles out on loan and it definitely seems appropriate given his potential.
He is only a year younger than James Beadle, but needs to pick up some senior minutes before he can be expected to replace the Brighton loanee in between then sticks.
Charles is yet to make a league appearance in his career and could really show what he is made of if he is allowed to join a lower league club this summer.
