The fixtures in the Championship are coming thick and fast as we head into the festive schedule, and Sheffield Wednesday have a big game against Blackburn Rovers coming up.
Last time out, Sheffield Wednesday could only manage a 1-1 draw against Preston North End, with the Owls failing to make home advantage count.
Danny Rohl has demanded a ‘reaction’ from his players in the midweek clash against Blackburn, but they’ll have quite the task on their hands against one of the Championship’s strongest teams on current form.
A win could take the Owls to within touching distance of a play-off spot, but defeat could kill that dream before it’s truly begun.

Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers clash tipped to be goalless
As part of their regular predictions show, the folks on the Championship Check-In podcast discussed the upcoming clash between two of the league’s most in-form teams, and found the game too close to call.
Host Benjamin Bloom commended Wednesday on the “upward trend” they’ve shown in recent weeks, but cited Blackburn’s run of four wins in a row as the “hottest winning streak” in the second tier right now.
Attempting to predict the scoreline left Sam Parkin with a dilemma, but he said: “I was going to have another stalemate here. I’m going to stick with my hunch. I’m going to go 0-0.
“I think Sheffield Wednesday haven’t caught fire in the forward positions. I think Blackburn’s strength is still in their make-up of the side, their structure. Obviously they won ugly against Hull in terms of the goal. I will go 0-0. It won’t be the best spectacle.”
Bloom was slightly more positive when it comes to the chances of seeing goals in the game, adding: “I’ve got a 1-0 win but I don’t know which way. I can see Blackburn going and winning it, or Wednesday too.
“I think I will go for home advantage… I’m going to go for Wednesday, which would take them very close to the play-offs.”

Sheffield Wednesday will look to continue tradition against Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn may be in great form now, having beaten the likes of Leeds United and Middlesbrough in recent weeks, but Danny Rohl’s side do have the mental edge having beaten Rovers twice last season, home and away.
Sheffield Wednesday’s lineup will be boosted by the return of Barry Bannan, too, who was a big miss in the draw against Preston.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |

| 11 | 18 | 6 | 7 | 5 | 20 | 16 | 4 | 25 |
This next run of games is really important for Sheffield Wednesday and could well define what direction their season is heading.
The Owls have a great chance to keep pushing on and gain some real momentum going into the New Year, but a defeat at any stage this month really does threaten to derail this unexpected promotion charge.
