Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has received words of encouragement from several players.
The Owls currently find themselves only five points away from the play-off spots after their recent big win on their travels against Derby County.
It was Barry Bannan and Jamal Lowe who got the decisive goals, with the latter bagging his first for Danny Rohl’s side since the season opener against Plymouth Argyle.
There were plenty of positives from the side, who turned around a fairly poor first-half performance to come away with all three points, and much of that came down to the substitutions made by Rohl.
One man who made the difference was Nathaniel Chalobah, who came on for his Sheffield Wednesday league debut after he sustained an untimely injury prior in the EFL Cup against Blackpool, which kept him out of action for months. He made a significant difference in-the centre-of-the-park, and his teammates were first to notify him of that.

Sheffield Wednesday stars send message to Nathaniel Chalobah after Derby County win
Chalobah was clearly delighted to finally be able to make a difference for the side he signed for in the summer after such a long injury lay-off, and he wasted no time after the game to take to Instagram to send a message, which read: “Tough couple of months but so glad to be out there with the boys. Time to dust the cobwebs off and help the team. Barry Bannan and Jamal Lowe coming in clutch.”
‘Clutch’ midfielder Bannan responded to the midfielder’s post about the game, where he wrote: “Great to have you back brother it’s go time ❤️❤️❤️”
Many other Sheffield Wednesday players got in on the act to heap praise on the 29-year-old midfielder, with Yan Valery leaving a comment that said: “Bro is back 👊🏽”, whilst Di’Shon Bernard and James Beadle left the comments that were ‘🫡’ and ‘🔥🔥’ respectively.
Nathaniel Chalobah will provide extra stability to Danny Rohl’s midfield
There is no doubt that Sheffield Wednesday have a top player in Shea Charles in-the centre-of-the-park, but it is brilliant to see that Rohl now has a solid back up option in Chalobah to choose from.
The Owls will be extra secure in midfield with Chalobah, who will certainly provide a crucial role in coming on for the last 20/30 minutes of gametime in the Championship, providing near-enough what Charles is able to do, but with fresher legs.
Admittedly, it was severely disappointing to see Chalobah sustain an injury so early into his Sheffield Wednesday career, but he has done very well to show patience and professionalism in his recovery, and there is no doubt that will translate into his performances on the pitch.
