Sheffield Wednesday are now showing an interest in Arsenal striker Mika Biereth.

This is according to The Star.

So, what has been said about Wednesday showing an interest in Biereth? Let’s take a closer look…

Sheffield Wednesday want Mika Biereth

The Owls are still searching for more firepower this month, despite Ike Ugbo penning a loan deal with Wednesday last week.

Danny Rohl is keen to add more goals to his ranks as he bids to defy the odds and keep the Owls in the Championship.

According to The Star, The Owls are looking for a loan deal for the 20-year-old who has been called ‘highly-rated’ by Alex Miller.

Biereth is currently on loan with Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell but Arsenal could be plotting a recall.

The Danish player has claimed 11 goal contributions this season, with five goals and six assists coming from 14 appearances.

Biereth had a small knee problem earlier in the season that robbed him of six games but now he’s back fit and firing.

Who is Mika Biereth?

The youngster was actually born in London but has played for the Denmark youth ranks and is currently part of the under-21 ranks.

He came through the youth ranks with Fulham but moved to Arsenal in 2021.

Wednesday-linked Bierek moved to RKC Waalwijk on loan ahead of the 2022/23 campaign and he spent a season in the Eredivisie.

His time in Holland reaped two goals from 13 appearances and Motherwell took him ahead of the current campaign.

Rumour rating: 7/10 – It’s fair to say that signing a talented youngster like Biereth can hardly be a bad thing for Wednesday right now.

The average age of the squad could do with coming down a little bit – and certainly in the striking department.

Michael Smith and Lee Gregory both look set to depart Hillsborough and that could leave Wednesday a little bit short.

What Wednesday have to assess, is whether Biereth is the right striker in their current predicament.
