Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Duncan McGuire.
Sheffield Wednesday already added Ike Ugbo to their ranks earlier this month, but it appears they are still looking to bolster the No.9 position in the final days of the January window.
The Owls already have Mallik Wilks, Ashley Fletcher, Bailey Cadamarteri, Lee Gregory and Michael Smith on their books, however the latter two have been linked with moves away, while all five only have eight goals between them.
Danny Rohl’s side look to have made Orlando City striker Duncan McGuire their number one priority, having already seen two bids for his signature knocked back in recent days.
The forward has 18 goal contributions in 2023 and has already attracted interest from the likes of Anderlecht, Bologna and Blackburn Rovers, with the latter seeing a loan bid rejected last month.
The Star have now reported that Sheffield Wednesday are preparing to launch a third offer, while they have also been handed a huge boost in their bid to lure him to Hillsborough.
The report claims that Orlando City have been in talks with the 22-year-old as they look to nail him down to a contract extension, however negotiations have now reached an impasse and McGuire has since informed them that he will not be signing a new deal and instead wants a move overseas.
