Danny Rohl has made it clear that he still hopes to bring in a new midfielder to Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls have already snapped up Nathaniel Chalobah and Svante Ingelsson, but their lack of depth in the middle of the park remains an issue.
Barry Bannan was their only senior central midfielder prior to the pair’s arrival, leaving Rohl with limited options.
Sheffield Wednesday haven’t been linked with many fresh names in recent days, with one of the last being Ovie Ejaria.
It was reported last month that the Owls had been ‘in contact’ with Ejaria’s representatives after training with the club at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old is without a club after being released by Reading in December and has attracted plenty of attention, with Wokingham Today reporting that he had already been on trial with Plymouth Argyle at the start of the year.

Sheffield Wednesday could miss out on Ovie Ejaria
Ejaria could be about to get snapped up under Wednesday’s nose though, with Oxford Mail claiming that the midfielder is now on trial at Oxford United.
The report states that he had been training with the U’s in recent weeks, before featuring in their friendly against Oxford City alongside Will Vaulks.
Ejaria showed ‘decent’ moments in the match, before being an unused substitute against Solihull Moors the following day.
The midfielder isn’t what the Owls need this summer
Wednesday are eager to sign a midfielder but it is unclear whether they are still looking to snap Ejaria up.
The Liverpool academy product has spent a large chunk of his career playing out wide or in an advanced midfield role, which probably isn’t what the Owls really need.
As well as buying Ingelsson, Wednesday also have the likes Josh Windass and Callum Paterson who can take up that role.
The club need to start looking at another defensive partner for Bannan, with Chalobah currently the only player that plays there.
Liam Palmer has likely to make a contribution all over the pitch this season, but Wednesday would benefit with more options of players who can play in their natural position.
