Danny Rohl told he has made a really ‘exciting’ signing who is perfect for Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday are set to take on Werder Bremen later this week before returning to Yorkshire.

The Owls were beaten 4-0 by RB Salzburg over the weekend as Danny Rohl got the opportunity to see his nine new signings in action.

Their first-half starting line-up was mostly the squad that avoided relegation last season, before the likes of Yan Valery, Svante Ingelsson and Jamal Lowe took to the pitch after the break.

The latter’s chances to impress were very limited as he faced a Champions League backline, but will still have plenty of time to make his mark ahead of the Championship campaign.

Journalist Joe Crann doesn’t think Lowe has anything to prove though, claiming there are no ‘question marks’ over his potential impact.

Sheffield Wednesday have ‘no question marks’ over Jamal Lowe signing

Speaking to The Star, Crann said: “His movement was good, wasn’t it? He seemed to put himself about a lot. There was one moment in particular where he sort of jinxed his way through the box and he looked like an exciting prospect.

“I think anyone who’s seen him play in the Championship, it’s one of those that Wednesday have signed this summer that there isn’t really a question mark on.

“You look at Ingelsson and Kobacki and these players and there’s clearly something there and we’ve seen little sparks, but there’s always that question mark of how are they going to adapt to English football? How are they going to adapt to the Championship? Whereas you look at Jamal Lowe and you know that’s a Championship footballer. We know exactly what we’re going to get with him.”

The Owls’ transfer strategy has worked perfectly

Lowe has spent a majority of his career in the second division and has established himself as a real threat to Championship defences.

The forward has picked up 51 goal contributions in 186 games in the second tier and has consistently impressed over the years, as well as winning two promotions.

There are rightfully no question marks over Lowe’s ability and there is no doubting that he just simply won’t feel the pressure of playing for the club.

The Jamaican is here to bag goals and assists and he will certainly do that if he has the players around him that are capable of playing to his level.

His arrival, as well as the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah and Max Lowe, are proven at this level and work as a brilliant balancing act for those that have arrived with no experience in the division.
